Yellow Exclamation Mark on Network Controller

  [DELETED] 21:50 06 Dec 2003

Since I had XP installed (I previously had ME) I have a yellow exclamation mark under other Devices/Network Controller in Control Panel/Systems/Hardware/Device Manager.

I didn't even know that I had a Network Controller!

Everything seems to work OK so why is it telling me that there is something wrong with something that I didn't know that I even had!!

Its probably due to not having any or the correct drivers installed for that device. Are you using a dial-up or a modem? Do you have an ethernet card installed? You can try and reinstall update drivers. click on the device then select properties and then follow the instructions.

Hope that helps.

I didn't even know that I had the device in the first place!

I use a modem. As far as I know there is no ethernet card in there and the PC has never been used for broadband.
