XP/Vista wireless netwrk. Which order to do things

  tonick 17:27 30 Dec 2007

I have a desktop running windows XP and have just got a new Vista laptop. Basically I want to setup a wireless network so both can access the internet at same time. The question is how shall I go about it? Set the network up on the new laptop (which has a higher spec than the desktop) or on the old desktop? Also can i just discard the BT Voyager 220V ADSL Voice Router and get a new router? Not sure if I need a wireless card for the desktop which is about 6 yrs old. Any help gratefully accepted. (Ideas on which routers would be best would also be welcomed)
Thanks for looking :@)

Connect the router to the Pc using an ethernet cable, just follow the CD instructions. Then set up the laptop wireless. Who is your ISP? they should be able to provide you with the best deal...
