XP Time synchronisation

  Andsome 11:14 24 Oct 2003

In XP Home the computer clock can be set to synchronise with an online clock at intervals of a few days. I noticed that my clock was a couple of minutes fast. I tried a manual update but this failed. My Norton 2003 firewall is preventing access. If I disable the firewall the clock updates. I cannot find out what to enter to allow automatic access. Any offers of help please.

Have you tried putting Norton into "manual" mode and then manually trying to update the time so you can teach Norton that access should be allowed?

click here get Atomic Clock, then allow it to have internet access in your firewall. You can configure it to update as you would like, or just simply ping for an updated time.

ZoneAlarm makes no attempt to stop XP's Internet Time Check operating.

Thanks all. I really want to use the MS system rather than download more software for Atomic clock. I have been trying out ways of allowing the firewall to be in manual mode, but so far without success. I will mark as solved for now and carry on trying to find the actual file in XP which i can then configure in Norton Firewall.
