Hello, after a nasty trojan I completed a repair of XP which cured the trojan problem. My problem now is that start-up takes for ever before I get to the log-in screen. Opening to my desk-top is also slow, I have looked at msconfig but very little is checked. Any ideas on speeding up the start-up, it was not a prob before, once all is open it runs fine, thanks Keith

Are you certain you have no other malware?

Have you run a full anti-virus & spyware scan with reliable software?

How does it start in Safe Mode?

You could also do a check with HiJackThis and use either the automatic analysis or post it on one of the help sites.
