XP Start up

When I tried to install an older programme on to my new computer it crashed completely and wouldn't restart even in "Safe Mode". So I decided after many frustrating tries to use the "Emergency" disc and reload Win XP Home version. This got the computer up and running again, but now every so often when I boot up I get "No signal" message on the monitor and it reboots. It usually does this a couple of times then starts to run normally. Sometimes it just starts normally. Any idea on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks

May be a dodgy graphics driver - have you installed the latest version for your card.

Tried that thanks. Computer bought new at beginning of year. Still it could be a dodgy graphics card. Will check with manufacturer.
