XP SP2 and Windows Media Player

Following the download of XP SP2, the Windows Media Player has developed a little glitch. When playing a video, when I click on the progress bar or go to bypass some of the video by sliding the progress bar, the volume shoots up to maximum. I thought I may be unlucky but a friend who has downloaded SP2 has exactly the same problem. Downloading WMP 10 does not cure the glitch. Anybody elso out there got the same glitch.
