XP restore query?

Hello all,
I am not 100% sure how the restore works, I will try to explain but it is not an easy point to make clear.

Please bear with me and see if you can follow my meaning.

The restore says it is totally reversible.
Here is the scenario,

I do a restore today from a point 5.4.06 and all works fine.
I then create a restore point 11.4.06 (today)
If I then run restore tommorow to restore from 11.4.06 does it revert to 5.4.06 or my original settings for 11.4.06 thus overiding the previous restore.

It will restore to whichever restore point you choose.

There are some excellent puzzle sites - click here is one.

As long as you do not try to go too far back it should work as Vog says. But old restore points get deleted after some new ones are created, This depends on what disc space as been allocated for Restore points

I said it would be difficult to explain and you seem to have missed the point that I was trying to make, my fault should have gone to UNI.
Thank you for the sarcastic link to the puzzle sites but I will give them a miss until I have learnt the three R`s.

Still trying to explain what I mean, If I do a restore are they the new settings or are my previous ones still there when I do the next restore.

  woodchip 23:26 11 Apr 2006

They are still there, you can revert if it goes wrong

They are still there, you can revert if it goes wrong

PS as I said this depends on how much disc space is allocated to Restore Points

the restore point chosen will refer to the status of your pc at that date/time.

OK so if you do a restore from say 1/2/06 to 3/3/06
do you still have the 3/3/06 original settings still there if you want to restore to 3/3/06 on 5/4/06

Yes it does not use them up, It's a bit like a Image of the disc just copies it back
