I dont know wether to upgrade my win98se to xp pro ,if i do so is there an option to save origonal files and remove xp and restore win98se if upgrade is unstable? or to dual boot loading xp pro on my d drive again once installed will there be a removal option? If i load xp on d will all the win98se drivers remain for use when booting to win98se?
Finally I know a format and clean install is favorite but this is NOT an option as I have too many customised settings/programs & hardware!
p.s how much space is required for a full install i have about 6 gig spare on d ,will programs already loaded on win98se run when booted up in xp pro?

You could always do a Full image backup of Win98 before you install Xp, as far as I am aware loading XP will replace all your win98 drivers etc anyway so you need to back them up anyway.

Question: "is there an option to save origonal files and remove xp and restore win98se if upgrade is unstable?" answer > if its an upgrade..yeah.

Question: "or to dual boot loading xp pro on my d drive again once installed will there be a removal option?" answer: Yeah

Question: "If i load xp on d will all the win98se drivers remain for use when booting to win98se?" answer: Yeah but only on C:

Question: "how much space is required for a full install i have about 6 gig spare on d ,will programs already loaded on win98se run when booted up in xp pro?" answers: 6 GIG is enough but programs running on Win98 C: will not run on WinXP on D:, you will have to install the progs on D: for them to work.
