XP Power Management

I have always used the Power Management options to turn off my monitor and hard drive after a specified time. I have now installed a new flat screen monitor to replace my old CRT and find these options are all greyed out and unavailable to me. I am also unable to use the screensaver. It allows me to click "Apply" on the screensaver box, but nothing happens.

Check Device manager to see if you have a plug and play monitor, perhaps the old monitor was a named type in Device Manager Monitors that had its own drivers. Right click on the monitor to look at properties. Some CRT monitors were supplied with driver software.

Thanks terryf. I have checked Device Manager and my new screen is listed including the drivers. I assume that this is what I installed from the CD that accompanied the monitor.
