xp network problem

Cannot share files between two computers,one is laptop,both xp ethernet ,wireless router.I can get the internet on both ok but cannot set up printer or share files.What exactly have I done wrong,tried the wizard also,have firewalls enabled.Any help would be welcome.

2 things:

1. You must set something (a drive or a folder) to share on each computer

2. You must set your firewalls to allow communications with the other computer.

If your router has an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and your computers 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 you must set all the firewalls to allow communications in the range 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.3

Disable the firewalls.
Ensure that the drives/folders you want to access have been set to enable sharing.

make sure tha both printers are members of the same workgroup. I suggest something other than Microsoft's suggestion. May also be an idea to change the default setting of the chanel number in case someone else has a wireless network within range.
