Having just re-installed XPHome on boot up I am offered to boot either XPHome or Windows. The latter if chosen boots to the C drive. No other OS is loaded. How do I delete this option please?
Thanks for all help.

It sounds as though you have 2 copies of Windows. Have a look at the contents of the C drive.

If you haven't Start, Run, type msconfig and look at The Boot.ini Tab and/or click 'check all paths'.

I now recall installing XP twice!!
Entered Boot.ini which reported:
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)Windows
[operating system]
multi(0)disk(0)partition(1)Windows="MicrosoftWindowsXPHomeEdition"/fast detect/NoExecution
C:\="MicrosoftWindows"
Re check all boot paths OK
Hope this helps with a solution - many thanks.

If you are going to edit the boot ini file to get rid of the second xp entry make sure you save a backup before you edit it, because if you delete the wrong one you will not be able to access XP.
this will tell you how to do it.
