At present running XP/SP2 on B/band with a BT Voyager 240.Would it be advisable to use say Zone alarm instead of xp's fire wall or is xp's good enough Thanks for any input

Zone Alarm every time

Windows firewall only monitors one way, Zone Alarm controls internet activity in AND out

XP's built in firewall is better than nothing but it is not as good as zonealarm.

XP's firewall will stop incoming I believe but it won't stop apps on your pc calling home which is not good if something malicious does find its way onto your system.

Download zonealarm come offline disable xp's firewall and install zonealarm.

Much more secure in my opinion
