XP Automatic updates

I need a Registy fix for the above If any one as got one, to turn it back on as I have it disabled and it will not start even with it enabled in services. In System under Automatic Updates it is grayed out

I have the same problem as well and I don't know how it came about!
I just check for updates on a weekly basis by going to the Microsoft update site!
If someone could help us both that would be brilliant!

CurlyWhirly Sorry to leave you high and dry, but I got it working by just restoring System files from my Restore CD. It gives three options " 1/Restore System File " or 2/Restore System File and Drivers or 3/Full Restore as from shop. It was also supplied with a full XP Home CD. I checked the Registry and it was set for Enabled but it would not work until I restored the system files. Hope you get yours working. And thank's All for offering help
