Yes, I think it is spyware, but not a lot is known about it. Remove it.

thanks for the reply but adaware and syp bot do not pick it up it is only picked up by ad-watch alarm which lets you know when some program is trying to alter your registry.

It seems you need to do it manually then.

From what I can remember from previous searches, the file (or related files) appear in the Run key and RunOnce key in the registry.

Download Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel click here and install it. Go to Control Panel, double click startup, and go through each tab (especially check Run and RunOnce) to find all references to wuxat.exe and untick the boxes.

If your operating system has Task Manager, open it, and find wuxat.exe, highlight it and click End Process. Confirm.

Then search for the file wuxat.exe on your computer, and delete them. [If you know the folder in which wuxat.exe is placed is not legitimate, just delete the whole folder.]

Restart.

If you have difficulty in ending the process in Task Manager or in deleting the files, restart and boot into Safe Mode, then delete the wuxat.exe file.

You can now go back to Startup Control Panel, right click the entries you unticked earlier, select Delete, then go to the Deleted tab, and delete those items from there (permanently).
