WSFTP won't dial out

I used to use WSFTP LE with Win98 to upload stuff to my webpages. As I'd expect, WSFTP would automatically dial up when I clicked on WSFTP's "Connect" button.
However, since changing to XP, it doesn't dial up automatically. I now have to dial up manually, then click on WSFTP's "Connect" button.
It's not a severe problem but am I missing something? expecting too much?

Does IE connect automatically when you open it up?

If not you need to check your settings:

From within IE go Tools and then Internet Options

From the connections tab choose "Dial whenever a network connection is not present"

And try again.

It doesn't make any difference.
Everything else works fine.
With Win98, when clicking WSFTP's "Connect" button, I always selected the required account when the Dial-Up Connection window opened.
Now, with XP, it doesn't open the DUC window and I get the following two-line message within WSFTP:
!Can't get "" host entry
!Connection failed
Where is my target webspace.
