Word won't save to disk

For some reason every time I try to save a word document to a cd it tells me that I have performed an illegal operation. Is this a problem with my settings or is it a quirk to Microsoft Word.

You might not be able to save directly to CD depending on what CD software you are running. Are you using Packet Writing software like InCD to make the CD behave like a floppy disk?

I have not got any cd software as I am running XP. I can save the document to the HD and then save it, but it won't let me save directly to the cd from within the Word program.

I might be wrong but I thought you couldn't do that in any case!

Have you ever done this and it has just stopped working or is your first attempt to save direct to CD?

You cant save directly from Word to CD. If you want to do that you need to do it via the hard-drive.
