Word to PDF (free or very cheap converter needed)

The title says it all.

I'm looking to place a few files on a school system so that access to the files is there for all pupils.

It requires little imagination to think what will happen if the files are capable of modification.

I'm thinking of converting the files to PDF to overcome this.

Any ideas please?

Thanks, but the use to which I want to put the converter could be considered business use and so is against the terms of the license.

Any views on my interpretation of the above welcome.
