wireless set up probs

trying to set up a wireless network, bought a belkin router with built in modem my 2 cards, when it says to connect the lan cables in my pc where is that cos i have no socket for it, my previous modem was an external usb one, when i connect my phone line to the new modem/router and attempt to connect to the internet i get an error 680 no dial tone. helpppppppppppppp

and wireless network cards in each computer you have all the hardware you need.

You'll need to connect the router to your ADSL phone line, and then temporarily connect the router to one of the computers using the lead that comes supplied with the router. This is so you can update the router's firmware with details of your username and password. This information is downloaded to the router so it can automatically establish the broadband connection each time it's booted.

Once you've completed the set-up you can disconnect the lead that connects to the computer.

i see what your saying but the cable supplied with the router i do no have anywhere on my pc to plug it in

You need an ethernet card to plug your cable into or a motherboard with a network (lan) socket.

i have got a network card in the pc which was put in there a while ago to transfer files by cable to my laptop. would this do

ok have done that so now i need to configure the router before i can use it for the internet, is that correct
