Wireless routers

I am considering getting a wireless connection between the main BT socket and my PC upstairs.
1. Are the routers self powered from the socket?
2. I have the old type BT socket ( solid front and bell wire disconnected). Can I use the router through a double connector in order to also connect my phone which is about 15' away? Or how? A new double main socket seems to be expensive to have fitted.

1 router will need a power socket as well as phone socket

2. You will need a filter plugged into the BT socket which will give one socket to the phone and one for your router click here

1. Right--that means running a spur then.
2. I know about the filters. Thanks all the same.
I have just changed all mine re connection
dropping. Would I still need filters for the other extension phones as I do now? They both feed from a double adaptor by the first phone.
