i have a IBM Thinkpad 380D and have just bought a belkin "Wireless G Notebook Network Card" its max speed is 54 MBPS and its a 32 Bit PCMCIA Cardbus.
the laptop doesnt recognise it nothing powers up on the card.

the pc is running windows 98 and the slots are labelled as SLOT 1 = Type II SLot2 = ZV (Zoomed Video).

can anyone advise if:

A)what i need to do to get it to work
b)does that laptop's PCMCIA slots support 32bit cardbus.

When you say Windows 98 do you mean that or have you Windows 98SE.

As for this card it says that 98SE is the minmum spec.

You should load the software before putting the card in. It will tell you when to put it in

i have win 98 SE

and did install software first

then wen it asked me to insert card (during installation of software) nothing happened when a dialog should have popped up asking for country selection.

The card may be faulty

Have you other things to try in the laptop Slot, just to verify it is working
