I am setting up an wireless connection and I am having problems. I have set it up on my main desktop via router via ethernet. I go to my laptop and it doesn't pick anything up. Do I have to do something on my laptop after setting it up on my desktop.

run the XP wireless setup wizard (control panel) on the desktop machine and make a set up floppy disk/ usb flash drive.

insert the disk / drive in the laptop and run the net setup file. this should allow the two machines to communicate.

Don't forget to secure your network using WEP and if you have problems with the machines talking you may need to consider firewall settings on both machines.

Re: the above infor. I haven't got a floppy drive on my laptop.
Also you mentioned the firewall what do I have to do because I now have the following problem. I got connected to the internet on my laptop, but when I switch the laptop off at night and came back in the morning it says its connected to Linksys but the internet page not available and will not go to any internet page. This has happened three times now.
