Wireless Networking

  Mr Confused 00:16 21 Jun 2004

I have recently purchased broadband for my computer and now would like to to create a wireless network so that I can connect another computer in my house to enable it to use the internet connection at the same time. I have a couple of questions: -

1. What equipment do I need and what is recommended? (From looking on the internet I understand that I would think I would need a 54g router and two 54g network cards for the two computers to achieve the best results - is this right?)

2. Do I need the main computer to be on for the other computer to take advantage of the connection?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for that just one more thing though - what kind of Internet speeds can I expect from the computer in the other room of the house

Would it be identical or noticably slower?

They would be identical but if both are using the connection at the same time it will slow down a bit.
