Wireless Network Adaptor not showing

  selif 22:43 22 Jul 2018

Just reinstalled windows 7 on my alienware m17xr3 laptop. Used the win7 disc that came with the laptop and installed some drivers from the resource disc that also came. From the disc i can only see a wired network adaptor (aetheros) and i've been unable to locate what i need online. I believe i have the right driver ready, which i found on dell support through entering my service tag but it won't install because there's no adaptor. There's only Aetheros and x2 bluetooth network adaptors showing in device manager.

Don't know if this is relevant but in device manager under 'other devices' there's a yellow exclamation point next to 'Network Controller' and 'Universal Serial Bus (USN) Controller' which i'm unable to 'update driver software with'

Appreciate any feedback

Not really got much idea with laptops but have you got the Wireless switched on in the laptop.

Yeh, there's a little button on the laptop to turn it off/on. When doing so i can see in device manager the x2 bluetooth adaptors being removed when turned off and appearing when turned on suggesting that it's functioning as intended
