Wireless Net & Boradband From Scratch

Hi,

I've got a desktop computer and a laptop and am looking at get ADSL broadband. In order for the computers to share the connection I'm also intending to set up a wireless (hopefully 54g) network. As I'm starting from scratch has anyone got any suggestions on a good way of carrying this out. The two options I see are having ADSL modem/router with a wireless access point connected to one of the ethernet points or to have a wireless router with a simple ADSL modem. Does anybody know of any pros or cons to the two ways?
