Hi i have an adsl bt internet connection and have bought a linksys WAG354G adsl gateway to make a wireless home network so that i can connect to the internet on my laptop. I have tried installing it on the pc but the Internet wouldnt work at all.
Do i have to do the install disc on both pc and laptop?
Does this completely replace my old adsl usb modem?
Do i use the same internet settings as previous?
Please Help!!!

Sorry if i sounded rude there but the questions where the sort you hear when people do not read the manual. I've have a look for a manual online and see what i can see...

The WAG354G is a Wireless Modem / Router so it replaces your current modem.

I owuld do the following.

1) Make a System Restore Point
2) Unplug the Modem and uninstall the Modem Software
3) Reboot
4) Plug the cable from the Phone Filter into the WAG354G.
5) Plug the Ethernet Cable into socket 1 and into your Ethernet Port on your PC.
6) Run the Software CD that came with the Router
7) Plug in the Power Supply
8) The CD should help you configure the Router for your connection.

That should get the PC online. Once you have done that we'll cover the laptop.

Make sure in IE, Tools, Options, Connections, it is set to Never Dial A Connection....

The manual is quite straight forward until it comes to making the settings for conneciton...

These are apparently the settings you need

Encapsulation protocol PPPoA
Encapsulation VC
Modulation G.DMT
VCI 38
