Wired Xbox controller disconnecting all the time

  Fedron 18:07 02 Jul 2018

So about 2 days ago my Xbox controller started to disconnect randomly from my computer. I made sure the cable is fine and that it has all the drivers it needs etc but it still kept on doing so I switched to a PS3 controller and it was doing the same thing so I think it might be to do with some additional drivers that might be missing or windows itself as I found out that the anniversary update made controllers not work. I have made sure Ihave all the drivers though so I think it is to do with windows.

What is there I could do to try and fix it?

Extra information:

  • My OS is windows 10
  • Started 2 days ago, since this was posted
  • My controller is the XEOX Pro analog: click here if you can help!

may be a USB problem

go into device manage on all the USB root hubs right click - properties - and if there is a power management tab ensure "Allow the compurter to switch of..." is unticked.
