Wiping a disk...........

  ShannockSid 19:23 25 Feb 2005

I have got an old computer running Windows 98. It’s been having repeated problems with crashing, freezing and going very slow so I have decided to completely start afresh and delete the entire C disc, then re-install windows 98se.

Any tips as to how I can go about it?

Thanks in advance. ShannockSid

This process will completely wipe your C: drive, so back up anything you want to keep.

Make the Win 98 boot disk, put it in the floppy drive and reboot. When it has finished booting, type "format c: /s" at the prompt. It will tell you that all files will be deleted. OK.

When it has finished, put the Win 98 CD in the drive and reinstall Win 98
