winregs32.exe. what does it do?

  kevinjuan 21:21 31 May 2005

amd 3000XP, 1GB Ram, 120gb HD, WIN xp home , SP2.
Start up and shut down would hang for up to 7 minutes when I used my speedtouch 330 broadband modem. By process of elimination I found that it was winregs32.exe causing the problems. Removed it from my startup files in MSCONFIG. Everything seems fine now, but what does the file do, and do I need it?

Many thanks for the help.

Followed the instructions to remove the worm and the entry has disappeared from my registry.But...I still occasionally have long delays when opening programs after connecting to the internet. anywhere else I should look for causes?
