winlogon.exe -unable to locate component

Today just after i logged on my username, after i switched on my laptop, an error message appeared stating "winlogon.exe-unable to locate component" and the error read on futher that vct3216.dll was not found and that i need to reistall this application. i can't remember of ever deleting a .dll file. I'm running Windows XP Home. Could anyboody please help me out and tell me what is going on?

if since posting your thread you have rebooted and you still have the error,suggest you do the following.

1/ go to start ,search type in vct3216.dll which should be in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and see if it comes up.

IF not there,

2/do a sfc /scannow with your windows disk/recovery disk in drive and see if it will be extracted.REBOOT,see if error message appears.

2/You could do a systems restore back to before the error message appeared.

The VCT3216.DLL is a Application Extension in the
C:\WINDOWS\system32 opens as Unknown application
Voxware Compression Toolkit and if not on your system ,or cannot be extracted ,could be sent as a attachment to you via email so you can copy it into your C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder.
