Can anyone tell me how to open a floppy disk created by excel on windows 98, now that I have a new computer with xp home, it won't open it, and I really need the information on it, thanks.
Why what happens? As long as you have Excel installed it should still open under XP.
when I click open, the message says windows cannot open the disk, windows needs to know what programme created it, and gives me the option of manually selecting from a list. the list includes acro read, aol, note, paint, etc, but no excel.
Do you have Excel installed? Excel is NOT part of Windows but a part of the Microsoft Office suite (also avalible as a stand alone program).Sounds like Excel hasn't been installed.Did it come pre-installed on the old PC?
