windows xp- shut down and ctrl, alt, del

I've just purged a nasty virus from this computer, one of the side effects of this virus working on the computer though that I can't figure out how to change back is its changed xp to looking rather like windows nt or...some old windows.

Pressing ctrl alt del brings up a 6 button option screen with just the background picture and nothing else behind it- options are task manager, lock the computer, etc....
How do I make it go back to normal so ctrl alt del just gives the task manager?

Also- the shutdown screen looks rather like the old shutdown screen. No big 3 colourful buttons, instead is a drop down bar and ok, cancel, help.

Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users logon > Use the Welcome screen.

you have to use the welcome screen to make the default options come back?
But...I've never used that before.

right click Start - select properties - tick Classic Start Menu

right click desktop - select properties
select Windows Classic form theme

VoG™ gave you the solution - so why not try it - it will only take 30 seconds.
