I have a Packard Bell Desktop running windows XP media center. When it was turned over the weekend the following message appeared :-UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUMEfollowed by the :-***STOP 0x000000ED ( 0x86F60728,0xc00000006,0x00000000, 0x00000000 )Has anybody got any suggestions on what this all means ??hugh
Get hold of an XP CD and run chkdsk click here
Follow this link and use Option 2My daughters PB did thre same thing a few months ago.It worked OK using a normal XP installation CD as per the above post.I think you can use the PB recovery CD to access the Recovery Console if you don't have an XP installation CD.
