Windows XP lock

Hello all, just a quick question, is there the feature in windows XP professional to lock one's computer as one would with 2k or has that been ommited? if the feature is there how do you turn it on? many thanks SDF

You can set a password on a screensaver, or you can set a passowrd when the machine comes out of standby, or any one of several other options.

For the screensaver, right click on your desktop and select properties, select a screensaver of your choice then depending on your computer settings you can opt to return to the Welcome boot up screen where you log in again or you can set a password to deactivate the screensaver.

Or you can open up the Power Saver options in Control Panel and set a password for the PC to wake up from Standby or Hibernation.

There are other methods but these are possibly the easiest.

Have you tried the win2k option: ctrl - alt - del ?

(I assume you have... but always worth checking out.)
