windows xp home - sp2 - avg 7 on startup

sorry if i'm being daft here but does anyone know how to turn off anti-virus within security center. i can turn firewall on/off, updates on/off but avg is always on. even in msconfig/start avg is unticked but in security center it's always on. i want to disable it when off line to free up resources/ram for high ram games like doom 3 and hl2.

any ideas?

You dont need to disable it in security centre if you wont to turn it off right click the AVG icon in the task bar and select Quit control centre,if you turn if off in security centre windows will display a popup telling you there is no virus protection installed, after you have closed the AVG control centre you may need to open task manager and end tasks related to AVg,like the email scanner
