windows xp hang

  killer7 00:19 02 Jul 2005

Im running windows xp professional and the problem is that windows occasionally hangs for no reason and
i have to restart the computer by pressing the reset button. I have no idea what is causing this so i think its pointless to put up my system specs. I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and would appreciate any help.

This does not only happens when im running a heavy application but even when the system is idle. Strange i must say because it has never happened before.

Any chance of spyware or malware do you think?

Just an idea but could you run any programs to check?

Background Program Problem. Try removeing Programs that do not need to start at Boot. By using MSCONFIG to stop them
