Windows XP Freezing & Rebooting

My WinXP (Home) has been working fine for as long as I can remember, I've not added any new hardware, I check for MS Updates weekly and Virus updates (Norton Internet Security 2003) every time I go online. I run the Virus Scan at least weekly and haven't found one yet!. I also run Lavasoft's Ad-Aware regularly to catch spy ware.

Around the same time as installing MS Digital Media Plus pack, my PC suddenly started freezing (particularly using IE - but then I use this most anyway), needing a resest - or suddenly rebooting without clean shutdown. In either case, XP doesn't report any abnormal shutdown / crash like it would normally.

Obviously I unistalled the Plus pack, but the problem is still happening.

Anyone got any idea's?

Try going to control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery and uncheck the box "automatically restart", hopefully when this fault occurs you may then see a blue screen error message instead of it restarting and take it from there.
