Could someone give me some advise please.
I have enabled windows xp firewall now my e-mails wont open, they are all fine if I turn the firewall off.
Is there anything I need to check. I am using Outlook Express, hotmail and yahoo, but the main one is outlook express.

I don't know what the problem is... try a different firewall, eg Sygate personal free edition and leave the XP firewall disabled.

The XP firewall is not as good as say ZoneAlarm in many respects. Best to disable it as suggested and use ZA or similar. The soon to arrive latest version will be much more versatile.

If you do wish to use ICF - and it should in fact work OK with Outlook Express - go to your Network Connections folder, right-click on your ISP connection and click Properties.

Click on the Advanced tab and the ICF check box should come up. Ensure that NO check boxes are enabled from the Services tab.

The only time you would enable any of these check boxes is if you wish to allow certain types of content to pass, such as Remote Desktop.
