I have just accessed the Microsoft update site to look for the patch to lock out the Blaster virus and it asks whether my Windows XP is the 32-bit edition or the 64-bit edition.
Anyone know if Windows XP Home = 332-bit and presumably Windows XP Professional = 64-bit?

You want the 32-bit, both Home and Pro.

The 64-bit is for highend servers and business systems.

Regards

you have the 32bit edition. the 64bit edition is for the Itanium processcor . xp pro is also 32bit
in most cases. the itanium is only really used for servers and not found in your average desktop. 64 bit processcors for the desktop are drawing ever closer (the MAC lads have beaten the PC to it)

I was wondering what the difference was between the 32 bit and the 64 bit editions, now I know.
Many thanks everyone
