Windows Vista Unable To Rename Folders

  SirMetal 01:57 30 Dec 2008

Hello everybody,

I have an Acer Aspire 7720G Laptop with 2gb ram and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

I am running a genuine copy of Windows Vista Home Premium sp1.

I have trouble renaming folders in windows explorer, whenever i try to rename a folder in my documents, my music or even on the desktop, i keep getting the error message "The file or folder does not exist"

I have Registry Mechanic 8 and CCleaner and have run them several times to clear out the registry but no result.

I have also downloaded and "Merged" Registry fixes that have been said to fix this problem but still i am unable to rename folders.

I have already run a system restore and it was fine for a few days but has come back again.

I don't want to run a system restore again as i have only just updated to vista sp1 thinking it would fix it (which it didn't) and do not want to reinstall sp1 again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
