Windows Vista Boot From Disc

  squashgym 08:09 27 Nov 2008

Every time I turn my computer on it's started to say that it can't run windows and that it needs the boot disc in order to start up.

When I insert the disc, press F12 and then run it from the disc drive it appears to work fine and eventually boots up.

It seems to be doing this every time the computer's switched off and I'm shutting ti down normally each time.

Help please.

Make sure that your BIOS is set to boot your PC from CD/DVD.

Put the Vista disk in before you boot up your PC.

Switch on your PC and follow the prompts from your Vista disk as if you were going to reinstall it. Before you actually get to that stage you will be offered the facility to repair the boot sequence. Take it and then reboot your PC without the Vista disk in the drive.

No more problems.
