Maybe turn your Firewall off and then try my link.Have you downloaded any new security programs lately.

  simonsup 17:56 11 Aug 2009

turned off firewall still no luck, nothing has been downloaded that im aware off recently, using norton 360 v3 if that helps.

The dreaded Norton.
If anything went wrong with your computer years ago there was a good chance that it may have been a Norton problem. But it has improved a lot since then and you rarely get problems with it now.Maybe check that it is not the firewall that has blocked it.
Normally switching a firewall off sometimes helps but not usually with Norton.
There should be a setting in the Firewall for secure sites. It should just be a matter of adding Microsoft to it.

ok i check it out and post back but norton has been on for 7 months without any problems, as far as i know the pc has not been altered, i can go anywhere on the web except windows or microsoft update page, weird
