Windows Security Upgrade Stuck

Every time I power up Windows attempts to install KB923980.
It appears to be successful but is then is still there foor installation next time I boot up. Any ideas please.

I must brush up my search techniques.

In the forums when I dug there was an example which renamed:
nwapi32.dll to nwapi32.old
nwprovau.dll to mwprovau.nwprovau.old

These are in the windows/system32 directory.

Be very careful messing in there anyone!!!

Its fixed the problem. I haven't noticed its broke anything!

I notice the nwprovau.dll file has been recreated but the nwapi32.dll has not. So perhaps just renaming the nwprovau.dll file would work.

By the way for anyone who has been wrestling with this. I have never been able to see this KB923980 in the list of programs in the "add/remove programs" utility. So I am confused about advice to de-install it after renaming the files!

The wonders of MS. I "wonder" if their new OS will actually be any better!
