windows registry recovery

Could anybody tell me what this message means that i got on start up.

one of the files containing the systems registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. the recovery was successful.

I have touched nothing.
os xp home sp2

Right click on your hard drive on My Computer and choose Properies>Tools>Scan Disk.

Click both scan disk options. Scan Disk probably won't run in windows and
will require a restart.

If so, restart. Hopefully, this will fix your problem.

Thanks for input but i fell asleep during the disk scan. lol

So i have no idea what the results were.
The computer seems to be behaving itself,just very curious as to what caused this to happen.

I will keep this thread open a little longer to see if anybody else can shed light.
