Windows not Genuine.

Just started computer and got a warning that Windows was not genuine. And underneath Get genuine now.
It is a Genuine Copy of Windows 7 that I have.
Anyone getting or have the same problem.
Just about to reboot and see if it happens again.

Nope.No message at start up this time.
No doubt it will appear again.
Just wondered why it happened today.

If you look in control panel, system and security, system, on the bottom it shows windows activation. Sometimes it is slow to load or doesn't. Happened to me once but a reboot cured it.

Yes it does say Windows Activated.
Will have another look if it happens again.Thanks.

This happened to my son's Sony Vaio yesterday morning when he booted up - a reboot fixed it - but boy did he panic at the time. It seems to happen quite frequently if you look at some of the other forums on the web.

Yes it just happens at start up and makes you wonder if it is one of those rogue anti-virus programs trying to install.
Just wondering if it was one of those last updates from Microsoft that produced this problem as I am sure one was for something to do with a genuine Windows update. But I may have been mistaken.

I think you are right re rouge programme. I had this a few weeks ago after foolishly downloading a programme that was meant to update drivers etc. The warning was in the bottom right hand corner. (W7). Also my e mail had problems. I only cured it with a recent ATI reverse clone of my c: drive.
