Windows - No Disk X

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive.

This is the message when i turn on my comp.

Any ideas why ?

As far as i am aware i have not changed anything that might cause this to pop up, but you never know ! ha ha !

into the run box, check the startup tab for programs you may find a program that is tring to run a disk, untick any programs you dont recognise.

Problem is i dont know what any of them are really !!! Ha ha ha

think i guessed AVG, theres certainly quite a few but what they all do / are i have not gat a clue !!

start > run > cmd > chkdsk > follow on screen prompts, and let it run.

once done use a trial of registry mechanic to fix any corrupt or missing registry values which could be creating the message! see link click here

hope this helps otherwise acquire a Genuine Windows CD and place in drive once this has been done the message should disappear!

Downloaded registry mechanic and it found lots of problems but could not fix as said i had to register / pay... dont think so, usually get FREE fix's on here.. Ha ha ha !!

Start, Run, type


and click OK

At the > prompt type

chkdsk /f and press the Enter key.

Again you seem to be my saviour !! HA HA HA

The free reg cleaner sorted it !

Ran it, found and fixed quite a few probs, then ran it through a couple more times and put a restart in there just to spice things up a little, seems to have all got back to normal now and working fine
