Windows loading problem

  [email protected] 13:13 06 Dec 2003

I have Windows 98SE and IE6.When I try to load Windows it will only partially load and then freeze.I sometimes have to reboot as many as four times before it will load fully.Any ideas what might be causing it to stick?

Not sure without more info, Mack1, but it is more than likely something that is trying to load at startup that just can't get going. Check msconfig and your startup folder to see if you can remove some stuff to begin with, see if it improves matters. It could also be something in your Config.sys or Autoexec.bat files that might be causing a problem, do a search of your hard drive for those two files and when you find them, rename them to something like oldConfig.sys and oldAutoexec.bat, see if that cures the problem. If renaming the files causes any problems (it shouldn't though) you can always rename them back later.
