Windows Installer

After an unsuccessful attempt at installing SP3 I am left with a Windows Installer that pops up every time I attempt to load a program including IE or Firefox. I have now spent two days trying to get the problem solved.

To date:-
Deleted all files in UserData and used register cleaners . . . System Optimizer,RegCure etc.
Downloaded Windows Install Clean Up this list many of the programs I use Office Suite, Nero etc. which I have no intention of deleting.

Any Ideas ?

Hi

Have a look here

Step 1 Windows could not find msiexec/unreg
Step 2 Downloaded and installed Win Installer 3.1
but it did not change anything.
Thanks anyway for your suggestions.

Have you tried System Restore in Safe Mode to get you back to pre SP3 days?

Before SP3 is installed it produces a restore point.
If SP3 install does not complete it auto restores but with a statement that it may not be satisfactory (or similar words). Previous restore points have disappeared.
In the end ( hate to think of it) I may have to reformat etc.

click here and step 2 should sort this for you.

Though i think you have mistyped earlier;

Note the space between c and /

msiexec /unreg
