Windows XP computer at work is going crazy and is in a persistent edit mode. Most obvious when clicking on the desktop icons, where they go into a "rename" state, and in Excel where the equivalent of F2 is happening (same as rename/edit). The lower left corner in Excel is quickly flashing edit/ready at a very high speed.
This continues even though the wireless keyboard is shut off.
The computer worked fine after a reboot, but only for a minute (when the work files and folders had been opened).
The computer is a "server" for three thin clients. They work fine.
