  manicGPz 19:19 18 Dec 2005

Hi everybody,
My son tried to write a file to CDRW and used the windows cd writer...problem is, he renamed the file without an extension - 'driver_for_cam", and so every time I try do delete this temporary file windows cannot find the file in the first place. I have tried:
Using the 'Delete temporary files' function
Moving the file to recycle bin/ go
Renaming the go
Searching registry for temp files result for this file
Strangling said son in face, no result on file (!)
So, could anybody please tell me how to get rid of this !"£$%^ file? Maybe somebody knows where to find the temp files cache on the registry??any help vry gratefully received

If you go to start/search.
search all files & folders.

Enter the part of the title you know, without the extention.

It will then be found. It is probably not named as a tmp file.

Hi Fingees,
tried your suggestion, found the file, but cannot delete it as a dialog pops up "cannot delete file, cannot read from source file or disk"..the same result as I have been getting..any other ideas?!?
