I have Win 98SE that was preinstalled when i bought my pc. Can I upgrade to XPHome Edition and if so is it worthwhile.

Thanks for the clarification on that. With my own upgrade from 98se and on the others I've seen done, it was by taking the route of Installing XP upgrade CD and formating the drive for a clean install. therefore wiping the drive clean of any trace of previous O/S. That will explain why I had to re-insert 98se to be scanned for qualifying O/S.

many thanks. J.

Depending on the age of your computer and its components.Converting from 98se to XP could bring you problems, with older type software and equipment. If your computer and accessories are fairly modern, then you should be okay.
